Musings of a wannabe Superwoman
  • Just splurged close to US$90 on a couple of DVDs I’ve wanted for months: 즐거운 인생 First Press Limited Edition DVD and 한성별곡 Director’s Cut DVD. Shucks. Where the hell is my self-restraint?! Jannah, you still want that iPhone / iPod Touch, do you?
  • Speaking of which, iPhone 3G is landing in exactly 8 days! Oh gosh, if I end up getting one, please let there not be long queues.
  • I really need to book a hotel room for the HK trip, soon.
  • Why are IM clients on Windows so damn ugly???
  • Going Turkish for team dinner tonight & Italian tomorrow with TKGians, woot! :D
  • I swear, replying emails take up more energy than coding. X_x
  • StreetDirectory.com has their maps back, yay!
  • Am totally craaaaaving the cheese baked rice at Eighteen Chefs right now. Gosh, the TORTURE of PMS-induced food cravings!
  • It’s been ages since I bought a damn good movie on DVD because it’s been ages since a damn good movie came out of Korea.
  • Business law started out surprisingly interesting despite its dry nature. I think it has everything to do with my captivating seminar leader. He actually explains law terms in English! :P
  • Wanted: a high-quality, roomy black tote bag to last me for years. Maybe I should just try to live without one until my Hong Kong shopping trip in November.
  • Firefox 3 on Mac looks uncannily like Safari. O.o
  • I now have a pet dog. :D He’s a basset hound and almost as big as me! Any name suggestions?

I just blew S$160 on the Eyes of Dawn Limited Edition DVD. Heh, I know that’s a bit much, but…I really, really want it. For months I’ve been debating the purchase. The moment came when my pay was credited & I found out I’d gotten a raise. And I thought, what the heck, it’s now or never.

It might be considered a dangerous habit, but very few of my buying decisions are based on cost. When I find an item I need or want & its cost more or less matches the mental price tag I had put on it, I will buy it. Sometimes I’d shop around for a better price, but only if it’s convenient.

So that’s why, if you were to meet me in a supermarket, you’d likely find me tossing things into my basket without studying the price tags. My fellow supermarket-loving buddy, on the other hand, loves comparing prices & would rather go to three different places to buy her stuff at the cheapest prices possible instead of getting all the shopping done in one place. >__>

Good news of the day.

Of course I couldn’t wait till the set arrived, and went to check MadMad for pictures. It’s beeyootiful! Look! (Image credits go to MadMad.)

(Click on each thumbnail to view the full-sized version.)

There’s also a set which comes with a book on the making of the film. (I wonder if its contents are similar to that in the story board book & scenario book I’ll be getting with my DVD?) Seems like it’s only sold in Korea though. (Image credits go to MadMad.)

I found the making book being sold separately at a couple of online stores, but it’s so expensive!

Why do I keep meeting only creepy guys? And why are all these creepy guys Malays? I have long been disappointed with the state of Malay guys in Singapore, but recently, a few of them have practically convinced me that I should give up on their species altogether.

I could go on & on about this, but it’ll be a waste of my time & space on my blog.

On to pleasant things in life. My pay came in, very timely as usual. I’m torn between sending my DVD player for repair & buying a hard drive for my HDD player. Choices, choices… I’ll probably end up putting the latter on hold again, because it requires more money. There’s still next month… But wait. Next month I’ll be giving away Hari Raya packets to kids! (Really, one of the downsides to being gainfully employed. Haha.) At this rate, I’ll never get my HD. :(

I hesitated to order the Lee Junki Fan Meeting Episode 1 DVD yesterday, and today DVDHeaven says “Out of Stock”! *knocks head against wall* Should. Have. Ordered. YESTERDAY!!!

I read in the news that Singapore bought the rights to air 주몽 (Jumong)! The Sageuk fanatic in me is BEYOND excited over this piece of news! (Sageuk = what Koreans call their historical dramas.) I hope the TV station would at least start airing it this year. Or we’ll lag behind other countries as always.

The moment I laid my eyes on 동감 (Sympathy) Volume 4 I knew I wouldn’t be able to resist buying it. And true enough. :P How could I resist when there’s the likes of Vibe, SG Wannabe, Lee Seung Cheol, Shinhwa & Lee Soo Young on the tracklist AND So Ji Seob on the cover? It’s perfect for my collection! *sighs happily*

Speaking of Ji Seob, I plan to send him a small birthday gift (& maybe a card) together with the other JSA Club members. This is the first time I’m even considering sending something to somebody famous. He’s the only celebrity whose birthday I remember. Goes to show how much I like & respect him as an actor & as a person.

Only thing is, I have absolutely NO idea what I should make or buy for him. All I know is, it has to be small so that all our gifts can fit into one big box. It doesn’t have to be super duper special, just something he’ll take a minute to admire & maybe use or wear afterwards.

I need to brainstorm!

This month is Korean DVD temptation month. So many great new titles being released in the next few weeks, and at least eight of them are calling out “BUY ME!” to me. Thank God I have a lot of self-restraint when it comes to shopping. I hate buying things on credit. Still, I am awfully tempted. I actually planned not to purchase anything the next few months, to save up for one big DVD boxset I’ve been eyeing since last year. But my resolution is being shaken every day. *slaps self* *goes to look at pathetic bank account balance*

It’s only lunch hour & I’m already daydreaming of what I plan to do during my long weekend. Don’t ask me why I’m not working like I’m supposed to. I just don’t get this code & my brain’s getting tired of looking at it the whole freaking week.

Sometimes I feel my brain’s a mess. That’s why I’m taking Monday off. So I can have extra time to “spring clean” my life, physically & psychologically. I feel like I need to clear out the physical mess around me in order to clear my cluttered mind.
