- Am totally craaaaaving the cheese baked rice at Eighteen Chefs right now. Gosh, the TORTURE of PMS-induced food cravings!
- It’s been ages since I bought a damn good movie on DVD because it’s been ages since a damn good movie came out of Korea.
- Business law started out surprisingly interesting despite its dry nature. I think it has everything to do with my captivating seminar leader. He actually explains law terms in English!
- Wanted: a high-quality, roomy black tote bag to last me for years. Maybe I should just try to live without one until my Hong Kong shopping trip in November.
- Firefox 3 on Mac looks uncannily like Safari. O.o
- I now have a pet dog.
He’s a basset hound and almost as big as me! Any name suggestions?
Just got back from watching 괴물 (The Host) with the girls. Gosh, what a GREAT experience that was! I’m still reeling from the sheer amazingness of it. It was one of those movies where you come out of the theatre feeling like you’ve just seen magic. It was everything I had expected, and more. This is what all monster movies should be like!
I’m SO watching it again.
More on the movie tomorrow; I gotta sleep!
I’ll be a very happy girl sometime next week when my The King and the Clown Limited Edition DVD arrives.
I just checked out MadMad for photos of the DVD package, and God, it’s GORGEOUS. Can’t wait!
I caught the movie on its opening day in Singapore yesterday. It was my third time watching it, but the first time I saw it on the big screen. Of course the cinema experience was so much better. Sigh. I wanna see it again! Y.B. thought it was good too, so I guess my taste in movies isn’t too shabby. Hehe.
Last night was quite an adventure; Mas & I actually got lost finding our way to The Cathay. Heck, we couldn’t even get to town! The rush hour traffic definitely didn’t help. Cars owned the roads because they’re bigger than you. X_x
I think Mas’ mission in life right now is to find out how to get to town from Raffles Place. Haha.
I’m currently salivating over the package art of the The King and the Clown Limited Edition DVD (which I’ve pre-ordered, of course). It is GORGEOUS. I cannot wait to own it. Aaahhhh. Look!

I couldn’t wait till my DVD arrived, so I downloaded & watched the movie over the weekend. How do I describe it… I was riveted from start to end. 정진영 (Jeong Jin Yeong) as King Yeonsan & 이준기 (Lee Joon Ki) as Gong-gil was genius. I wouldn’t say Joon Ki stole the thunder from the senior actors, but I could finally see why he caught everyone’s attention with his role. Whenever Gong-gil cried, I was like, 울지마~ ;__; He’s the best crier I’ve seen.
I’m definitely gonna catch 왕의남자 (The King and the Clown) again when it opens in theatres next week. I might even be going on opening day itself! It’s THAT good.
I “marathoned” the last few episodes of Sekai no Chuushin de, Ai wo Sakebu during the weekend. Depressing as hell, they were. But still I couldn’t stop watching. (On hindsight, I do like sad stories a bit too much.) I’m saving the hour-long special recap episode to watch after I read the novel (for which I’m STILL waiting). I really hope the English-translated version does justice to the original Japanese novel, since I can’t read the latter.
청연 (Blue Swallow) is a beautiful, beautiful movie. It’s about 박경 (Park Kyeong Won), one of the first Korean female pilots in history. She died in August 1933, when her plane went down just an hour after takeoff. Blue Swallow was strongly criticised in Korea even before its release. Many Koreans argued that Park Kyeong Won had participated in Japanese propaganda activities during World War I & should therefore be considered a traitor to the country. The movie did poorly at the Korean box office, due to all the bad publicity I suppose. Which is a pity, because to me – as an outsider looking in – it’s simply a great movie.
If I said I loved 해신 (Emperor of the Sea) before, I’m probably obsessed over it now. I’m so hooked I’ve put everything else I was planning to watch aside.
I get so excited watching the action scenes, my family thinks I’m mad. They don’t realise it’s actually not that much different from men watching a soccer match.
I actually found some old news articles relating to the drama which I had once read & forgotten. I really shouldn’t have re-read them, because now I know that one of the main characters will die in the end. Sob. That’s actually something to be expected considering how the story has been going, but knowing that it’s really gonna happen is disappointing, to say the least. Well, I’m only about halfway through the 51 episodes & there’s still much of the plot waiting to unfold, so I should just wait & see. The death could actually be the logical conclusion to the whole story.

You could say I’m a little “SekaChuu”-obsessed at the moment.
I hope the book arrives soon after I finish the drama series. As expected, it still hasn’t been shipped out yet, though I ordered it a day before I did the DVD. Hmmphh.
My DVD wishlist is almost entirely made up of movies I’ve watched & loved. Maybe I should start buying DVDs of movies I haven’t watched. Heh.
