Musings of a wannabe Superwoman

Excuse my momentary jakun-ness, but I’m blogging from my iTouch! :D

  • Just splurged close to US$90 on a couple of DVDs I’ve wanted for months: 즐거운 인생 First Press Limited Edition DVD and 한성별곡 Director’s Cut DVD. Shucks. Where the hell is my self-restraint?! Jannah, you still want that iPhone / iPod Touch, do you?
  • Speaking of which, iPhone 3G is landing in exactly 8 days! Oh gosh, if I end up getting one, please let there not be long queues.
  • I really need to book a hotel room for the HK trip, soon.
  • Why are IM clients on Windows so damn ugly???
  • Going Turkish for team dinner tonight & Italian tomorrow with TKGians, woot! :D
  • I swear, replying emails take up more energy than coding. X_x
  • StreetDirectory.com has their maps back, yay!
  • Am totally craaaaaving the cheese baked rice at Eighteen Chefs right now. Gosh, the TORTURE of PMS-induced food cravings!
  • It’s been ages since I bought a damn good movie on DVD because it’s been ages since a damn good movie came out of Korea.
  • Business law started out surprisingly interesting despite its dry nature. I think it has everything to do with my captivating seminar leader. He actually explains law terms in English! :P
  • Wanted: a high-quality, roomy black tote bag to last me for years. Maybe I should just try to live without one until my Hong Kong shopping trip in November.
  • Firefox 3 on Mac looks uncannily like Safari. O.o
  • I now have a pet dog. :D He’s a basset hound and almost as big as me! Any name suggestions?

The IT Project Management course I’m taking up next semester is actually conducted by International Institute for Learning, in partnership with the university. What’s interesting is, I can opt to be in virtual tutorial group where the training is in the form of live, interactive online sessions. Which means I’d have one less commute to campus every week, saving me some time & energy.

I found out I could reserve an iPhone 3G through SingTel, so I went ahead & did it. Most likely, I will forgo the iPod Touch & opt for the all-in-one iPhone instead. But SingTel will give me a week to decide if I still want the iPhone once it reaches our shores, so we’ll see then. No more shopping for me in the next few months. No more IKEA especially. Everytime I step into that store, there’s always something I want to buy.

Last bit of randomness: YB’s convocation ceremony is in a week, and I’m already excited to attend it. :D

The other day I came across the best quote EVER:

Banks are places where they lend you an umbrella in fair weather and ask for it back when it rains.

ROFLMAO. How clever is that! And how true! I wish I thought of it.

Anyway, I am a much happier girl today because:

  1. The nasty flu bug is almost gone. Yippee! No more medicine making me sleep for 12 hours. -__-;;
  2. Granny was discharged from hospital this afternoon, after less than 24 hours. It was nothing serious after all.
  3. EB’s coming back to SG tonight.
  4. I finally went to Ikea today for field research. I love that store. Can I like, live there?
  5. Got the course registration for next semester over & done with after having such a hard time choosing the modules.
  6. Only 1 more project deadline ahead!
  7. Tomorrow is Monday! :D I’ve missed going to work. (Did I just say that?)

Which is kinda silly if you think about it. It’s not like I met the boys or anything. But I guess I miss them because I was cheated of a concert I was really looking forward to, a concert where I was supposed to watch them rock the house like the musicians they aspire to be. (Not cheated by the band, of course. Cheated by the local organiser. -__-)

Boo.

I want my rock concert back!

Deck of cards

I’ve been playing a memory game I learnt from 스펀지 (Sponge, a Korean variety TV show) with these cards. I love Korean infotainment shows! They’re so funny (even funnier if you catch the verbal puns that aren’t translated into subtitles), and every episode gives me plenty of new vocabulary to pick up.
